Acts of the Oireachtas (Acts 1922 - )About this site
This database contains the Acts of the Oireachtas in Irish and in English from 1922 to the present day. The Irish and English language versions of each Act are linked together so that it is possible to move from a particular section in an Act in one language to the same section of the Act in the other language. Additionally, searches can be carried out for words and phrases in the two languages, that is to say, Irish language words can be searched for within the Irish language database and English language words can be searched for in the English language database. At present, some Irish language versions of Acts are not included in the database (especially Acts passed in the years from 1993 to 1997) but it is intended include these Acts as soon as possible. Where an Irish language version is not available no link will appear in the English version.
Faoin Suíomh Seo
Is é atá sa bhunachar sonraí seo ná Achtanna an Oireachtais ó 1922 i leith i nGaeilge agus i mBéarla. Tá an leagan Gaeilge agus an leagan Béarla de gach Acht nasctha le chéile ionas gur féidir dul ó alt áirithe d'Acht i dteanga amháin go dtí an t-alt céanna den Acht céanna sa teanga eile. Ina theannta sin, is féidir cuardach a dhéanamh ar fhocail agus ar abairtí laistigh den dá leagan ar leithligh, is é sin le rá, focail Ghaeilge a chuardach sa bhunachar sonraí Gaeilge agus focail Bhéarla a chuardach sa bhunachar sonraí Béarla. I láthair ná huaire tá roinnt leaganacha Gaeilge nach bhfuil ann (go háirithe Achtanna a bhaineann leis na blianta ó 1993 go 1997) ach tá sé i gceist na bearnaí sin a líonadh a luaithe is féidir. In aon chás nach bhfuil an leagan Gaeilge ar fáil ní bheidh aon nasc le feiceáil sa leagan Béarla.

Migrants Rights Centre of IrelandWe’ve supported groups of workers when their employers abandoned them, documented racism on our streets and at our borders, won landmark victories for domestic workers, victims of forced labour, students, undocumented workers and families.
From the start, our work has been led by dedicated campaigners affected by the very issues they fight against – restaurant workers, au pairs, undocumented young people and more – and supported by countless allies from across Ireland and abroad.
Right now, we handle 2,000 cases a year in our drop-in centre, helping people in Ireland live and work in safety and stability. We bring people together to fight for their rights as undocumented migrants, to make sure workers are valued, to help young people in Ireland live full and free lives. We’re building Ireland’s first care co-op run by migrant care workers, with decades of experience and endless determination. With partners on both sides of the border, we’re supporting workers in the border region.

PILA - Public Interest Law AllianceIn 2009, PILA (Public Interest Law Alliance) was launched with a collaborative vision for getting the law working for those most in need.
Having operated for 50 years leading the access to justice movement in Ireland, FLAC (Free Legal Advice Centres) recognised that there was a strong public interest spirit across civil and legal society. This spirit was in need of a central driver to draw together and connect all those seeking to spearhead the law as an agent of positive social change.
PILA was established to develop public interest law in Ireland in a practical way, and remains one of FLAC’s core strategies for increasing access to justice.

RIAN - Irish Academic Research PublicationsRIAN began as an investigation into institutional repositories by the Irish Universities Association Librarians’ Group in 2005. It tasked a sub-group to look at the options and make recommendations. The sub-group advised that a national network of local repositories, with a national harvester to aggregate their content, would comprise the most efficient infrastructure. In 2006, the IUA Librarians successfully applied for support from the Department of Education and Science's Strategic Innovation Fund which is administered by the Higher Education Authority. The group was awarded €1.6 million, half of it to be found in matching funding. The project began in April 2007 and was completed, within its three year schedule, by March 2010.
The project aim was to harvest to one portal the contents of the Institutional Repositories of the seven university libraries, in order to make Irish research material more freely accessible, and to increase the research profiles of individual researchers and their institutions. As RIAN developed further, other Irish research repositories were added, and more continue to be added, so that RIAN will truly be the portal to Irish research.
The aggregation of this content will have significant benefits. It will be the primary source for Irish Open Access research publications. Jointly agreed metadata standards will facilitate more accurate searching and retrieval. The aggregated content will make further value-added features, such as statistical analysis, possible. RIAN will allow other agencies to harvest normalised metadata for better search results. As RIAN expanded to include repositories other than those of the seven universities, the need for a revised governance model became apparent. In 2014 RIAN was restructured under a new Business Model more representative of all the RIAN membership, as illustrated below. Work is still ongoing to finalise the Terms of Reference and Procedures.

As an independent think tank Social Justice Ireland is a significant research resource in the area of social justice and public policy. We provide accurate social analysis of the current situation on an ongoing basis and identify effective policy proposals to address challenges.
We are one of the leading advocates for the changes needed for a future that is sustainable economically, environmentally and socially. We identify credible alternatives and effective pathways to resolving challenges faced across a wide range of public policy.
Social Justice Ireland works to ensure that every member of society, and society as a whole, can flourish and thrive in a sustainable manner. We have a special concern for those who are vulnerable or on the margins of society. We believe that the dignity of all is enhanced when those on the margins of society are included. Consequently we promote the development of an inclusive society in which everyone’s rights and responsibilities are recognised and honoured.
We work both nationally and internationally. The inter-relatedness of the local and the global requires that issues be addressed at different levels to ensure appropriate solutions are identified and implemented. We bring this perspective to bear on all we do.

TASCTASC is an independent think-tank whose mission is to address inequality and sustain democracy by translating analysis into action.
TASC’s Constitution presents its main objectives as:
Promoting education for the public benefit
Encouraging a more participative and inclusive society
Promoting and publishing research for public benefit
What we are for
As a public education charity (CHY 14778), TASC engages in research and public outreach concerning inequality, democracy, and climate justice in the current political, economic, and social environment. Through its work, TASC seeks to increase public knowledge of economic and social policy, improve working conditions, facilitate a just transition to advance climate action and protect livelihoods and communities, and more generally, contribute to positive social change in Ireland and the EU.
TASC regularly evaluates the work of other organisations that seek to improve service access to vulnerable and marginalised groups. In conducting research and practice-based evaluations, TASC consistently employs rigorous mixed research methods, including statistical analysis of government data, organising focus groups, implementing surveys, and conducting open-ended and semi-structured interviews.
TASC staff use such data to tailor policy recommendations and to propose specific interventions for government, civil society, and other commissioning organisations.
